Manila is full of photo-worthy cafes but Filling Station Bar in Makati is like no other cafes I’ve been to. This cafe is simply the best when it comes to retro or vintage themed cafes. It reminds me of 1950’s style American diner. Filling Station Bar is a must visit when in Manila.
This cafe operates 24 hours and it is located in Padre Burgos Street in Makati City. You can take a taxi or grab to get there. You can have your breakfast in the morning or you can also just hang out at night and chill at the bar area.
Filling Station Bar Interior
The moment I stepped into the cafe, I felt like I stepped back in time. Every corner of the cafe are completely covered with everything that you can think of from the 50’s – 70’s. You can see several antique signs, vintage posters, records, gas pumps, and many more. I love the interior of the cafe since it is an old-style diner booths and there are also vintage car sections that they have converted into booths.
We visited Filling Station Bar around seven in the morning for breakfast. It is a good time to visit even if it is on a weekend since there are not many customers yet. You can enjoy the cafe and ambiance peacefully.
My favorite meal for breakfast is eggs benedict so that is what I ordered. My mom ordered French Toast with bacon and scrambled eggs. We also ordered milkshakes. It really feels like an American diner. The staffs were all so friendly and attentive which made our experience more enjoyable. They are also wearing 1950’s inspired outfits and it would make you feel like you are no longer in the Philippines but in America. The price are a bit pricey but I think it is worth it since it will also be a great experience.
Filling Station Bar is even more fun to visit at night time with all the neon color vibes. The only disadvantage is that there will be a long queue but the experience will make the wait worth it.
I hope you can visit Filling Station Bar when you visit Manila. It will surely be a fun experience for everyone. If you are looking for more photo-worthy cafes in Manila, then check out 1919 Grand Cafe and am.pm.
