Singapore 5D4N Itinerary – Guide to The Lion City
Singapore is the smallest country in Southeast Asia with no natural resources. However, they have one of the most beautiful architectures, jaw-dropping skyline, and unique culture. You must visit Singapore at least once in your lifetime. Singapore is also one of the safest cities in the world so it is also perfect for solo travel, Here’s a guide for solo travelers in Singapore. In this blog post, I will be sharing my Singapore 5D4N Itinerary.
My brother has already visited Singapore twice and he suggested 3 days and 2 nights would be enough to explore Singapore. Although I prefer longer days when I am traveling to a new country for the first time because I can really explore more of the less touristy places. A Singapore 5D4N Itinerary is just enough time to explore the main touristy attractions and their hidden gems. If you prefer shorter trips though, a weekend in Singapore would be great for you.

Arrival Day

Our flight to Singapore from Manila was at 5 A.M. We flew with Philippine Airlines, the only 4-star airline in the Philippines. The plane arrived earlier and we were able to leave earlier than the schedule. I was shocked because I always fly with Philippine Airlines from General Santos City, my hometown, to Manila. The plane is always big and there are several restrooms. That was not the case for our flight to Singapore, the plane is smaller and there is only one restroom so there’s always a long queue. Even Cebu Pacific Air, the budget airline of the Philippines has two restrooms. But Philippine Airline has an in-flight meal where Cebu Pacific Air doesn’t.
We arrived at Changi Airport before 9 A.M. Changi airport is the best airport in the world and it is not difficult to see why. The first thing we did right after immigration was to pick up the 4G Wifi we purchased from Klook. Instead of buying the EZ card, we decided to buy a tourist pass to save money, since you can have an unlimited ride on their train and bus.
We then took the train to our hotel. If you want, you may also choose to have a private transfer from the airport to your hotel. We stayed at V Hotel Bencoolen. I love how perfect the location of this hotel. Just beside this hotel is already the Bencoolen station, just a few steps from the entrance. Bencoolen station is also just a few train station stops away from other popular attractions like Marina Bay Sands, Bugis, Chinatown, and others. Singapore is a beautiful country and every corner is just so picturesque, perfect for Instagram.

11:00 A.M – Singapore Museums
The first thing we did on our Singapore 5D4N Itinerary was to visit the National Museum of Singapore and National Gallery Singapore. They are just a walking distance from the hotel.

You can learn more about Singapore’s culture and history here. The National Gallery Singapore also has the largest collection of Southeast Asian arts.
1:00 – Lunch
Our second stop is the Marina Bay area. It is also just a walking distance from the museums. It was already noon so we were looking for where to have lunch. We went inside the Esplanade mall and there are several restaurants inside the mall.

3:00 P.M – Rest at Hotel
Since we had an early morning flight that day, we were all so exhausted. We decided to go back to our hotel to rest.
6:00 P.M – Singapore Chinatown
We went out to eat dinner in Chinatown. It was just two stops from our station. I love seeing the festive atmosphere in Chinatown and it is also a great place to find great deals. You can also buy your souvenirs here.
2nd Day
On our second day, we went out a bit late. When we travel, we usually start early to make the most out of our trip and avoid crowds. There’s no need to rush in Singapore though. I love how you can be laid back and chill in this country.
10:00 A.M – Singapore ArtScience Museum
Our first stop is the ArtScience Museum. I love the architecture of this museum, you can only find it here in Singapore. The main attraction of this museum is the light installation.

After exploring the museum, we just hang out in the area and enjoy the beautiful view of Marina Bay Sands and the Central Business District Area.

3:00 P.M – Singapore Chinese & Japanese Gardens
We took a one hour train ride to visit one of their less touristy attractions. The Singapore Chinese and Japanese Garden is a very peaceful garden, perfect for strolling. You might feel like you are no longer in Singapore when you visit these gardens.

The Singapore Chinese and Japanese Garden are located near Jurong lake. If you want and if you have more time, you might want to also check out Jurong Bird Park
3rd Day
On our third day, we spent the whole day at Universal Studios Singapore. It was the first Universal Studios Park that I visited. I also got to visit the one in Osaka a few months later. The park in Osaka has Wizarding World of Harry Potter while the park in Singapore does not have one.

I love the Puss and the Boots hanging roller coaster ride. Puss and Kitty also have a performance and they will be very happy to meet and take photos with guests after their show.

Overall, it was a fun day. I always love theme parks and I visit one whenever we travel. For dinner, there are a lot of restaurants outside the park. We ate at Malaysian street food, which is an indoor restaurant but the interior makes it look like you’re outside. There are also different stalls inside which gives you more options. The vibe is similar to hawker centers at night time.
Universal Studios Singapore is part of Sentosa Island. There are still more places to explore on the island. If you have more time, you might want to check out :
Day 4
It was the second to the last day of our Singapore 5D4N Itinerary. On our fourth day, unlike the second day, this time, we went out really early. We wanted to avoid the crowds so we could take beautiful photos without photobombers.
8:00 A.M – Gardens by the Bay
Our first stop is the Gardens by the Bay. Since the area around the supertree grove is open to all. We went earlier than the opening time so that we can have the place pretty much to ourselves. We were able to take photos without photobombers. There were only less than ten people when we arrived.

After taking photos of the Supertrees, we explored the two greenhouses. The Cloud Forest is known for the huge indoor waterfall. The Flower Dome has a different theme depending on the season. When we visited, the theme was Sunflower Surprise.

12:00 P.M – Lunch at Newton Food Center
No trip to Singapore is complete without eating at a hawker center. We decided to visit Newton Food Center, which is also the place where Nick and Rachel visited in the film ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. It’s very clean and spacious. There are different food stalls. You can find different cuisine such as Singaporean, Malaysian, Indian, Chinese, and Korean. We ordered local dishes such as the Cereal Shrimp and Bak Kut Teh.
2:00 P.M – Singapore Botanical Garden & National Orchid Garden
If you love nature then Singapore Botanical Garden is perfect for you. You can also find the National Orchid Garden inside the Botanical Garden. I love seeing beautiful orchids with different colors.

6:00 P.M Gardens by the Bay Night Show
After exploring the botanical garden, we went back to Gardens by the Bay to watch the night show. We actually come here every night just to watch the beautiful night show since it’s just a few stops from Bencoolen station.

We actually planned to visit either Clarke Quay or Chinatown for dinner. But since it was already our last night in Singapore, we decided to just eat at one of the restaurants near the Supertrees. We really enjoyed the night show that we even watched the second showing. The night show is definitely one of my favorites for this trip.

Day 5
Our flight was still at 8:00 P.M so we still have time to explore the city. We decided to visit Haji Lane, Arab Quarters and the Merlion. We had our breakfast at McDonald’s at Bugis station and it’s unique compared to other branches. You select your order through the touch screen, then you wait for your number at the counter to pay for your order. It was raining when we got to Haji lane and because of that, there were no crowds. We were able to take photos without any photobombers.

The rain started to get heavier so we decided to go back to Bugis station. We decided not to visit Arab Quarters anymore. Instead, we went back to the hotel again since it was really raining hard that morning. We just rest and pack our things.
11:00 A.M Hotel Check out & Merlion
When the rain died down and the sun was finally up, we checked out of our hotel. Since we are not heading to the airport yet, we left our luggage at the lobby first before heading out. The Merlion is an iconic symbol of Singapore. You cannot leave Singapore without visiting Merlion. We already saw the Merlion when we visited the Marina Bay area but we were on the other side. We wanted to see it up close.

2:00 P.M Changi Airport
Changi Airport is an attraction in Singapore. There’s also a new attraction which is Jewel that has the largest indoor waterfall in the world. We wanted to try out the Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Singapore at Changi Airport. It is unique because it is not the usual Hello Kitty cafe that is full of pink decorations. After we had our late lunch, we just explored the Changi Airport.

8:00 P.M Flying Home
This is the end of our Singapore 5D4N Itinerary. Singapore is a four-hour flight from the Philippines. We arrived in the Philippines around midnight. If you have read my previous posts, you would know that I love Japan. I love anything related to Japan, anime and manga, kawaii culture, Japanese food and etc. Even though I love traveling to Japan and it is my favorite country, I really enjoyed my time in Singapore. It is also starting to become one of my favorite countries. I would definitely love to visit Singapore again.
I thought Singapore 5D4N Itinerary would just be enough time but there are still more places to explore. I still have a lot of places that I want to visit in Singapore. If you have more than five days in Singapore, here are some of my suggestions:
- Singapore Zoo
- Singapore Night Safari
- Singapore River Safari
- Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck
- Singapore Flyer
Pin this for later!

Awwww Puss and Kitty are such cuties. I love reading your itinerary!! Are you the one who made it?? I like how your day is not full packed so that you get to enjoy each attraction you visit. I’m all for quality over quantity. Great itinerary. Thanks for sharing!
Fae Celine
they are so adorable. yeah, I’m the one in charge of planning our itinerary whenever we travel ๐ I love quality over quantity too. It’s much easier to be laid back in Singapore compared to Japan since I feel like I have to kind of rush just to get to the next attraction.
Joanna
I had no idea that there were so many things to do in Singapore, as usually people just visit it for a day or two. Shame the weather wasn’t great and you didn’t get to see the Arab Quarters as well. I would like to visit the Japanese Gardens, they looks so pretty.
Fae Celine
I saw so many beautiful photos of the Arab Quarters and I really wanted to go. Hopefully on our next trip.

I have never been to Singapore, but from everything you wrote about the city I think I would love it. I didn’t know it is one of the safest cities, that’s another huge bonus. Gardens by the Bay looks beautiful and a good suggestion about arriving early to avoid the crowds. That’s a fun fact that the Newton Food Center was in the movie ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. It sounds good with all the different cuisine choices.
Dada
Singapore is one of my favorite city but after reading your post I just realized that I need to return asap because it seems as I havenโt visited half of what you mentioned! Especillay now when I am traveling with my daughter, she would love the Universal studio!

I love Singapore! it’s one of my favorite countries/cities to visit, so much interesting things to do and see there! Two of my favorite attractions are Gardens by the bay and cloud forrest!
Jane Dempster-Smith
I love Singapore. There is so much to do and see. The food is incredible in Little India and in Chinatown. It is one city that spending 4 nights 5 days is just the perfect itinerary. The Botanical Gardens are one of our favourite destinations in Singapore and having a Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel.
Paul Healy
I’ve often stopped over at Singapore but never spent this long exploring the city. Seems like I should spend a bit more time here. I loved the food in Little India and I really want to go to that pool on the top of the building that looks like a boat. Seems like an essential thing to do in Singapore.
E. J Requina
Mom and I are heading to Singapore next year so this is a lot of help. Although my plan is also to visit less touristy spots in the country while mom focuses on shopping. I love how detailed your itinerary is and yes i super agree to utilize the promos and offers of Klook. Its the groupon of Asia.
Jennifer Prince
I had no idea that it was so beautiful there! The gardens are so lovely. And I really like that you put when you rested – that is SO important to put into your travel, and I often forget to do so.
Bhushavali N
Hahaha. I’ve actually booked my tickets to S’pore and I have 5 days and 4 nights there! This is perfect and on-time for me!
The Chinese and Japanese gardens are just so nice. Totally serene and my kinda places. Will definitely include them in my itinerary.
Good to know you managed to go before the opening times of Gardens by the Bay. Awesome photos without people there!
Aareeba
Wow you have covered a lot of things in 5 days. We are planning to visit Singapore next year and am definitely gonna use your itinerary. Have had a layover in Singapore and it was so much fun to see how many cool activities changi airport has.

Really appreciate this guide as we are in the beginning stages of planning a trip that will include Singapore. So much great information!! It looks like you are wearing a dress in most of these (lovely) pictures. Is it suggested to dress up in Singapore?
